SailPoint is a company that offers identity governance and provisioning solutions. It allows using the SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) standard for efficient user identity management. SailPoint's provisioning process, which can be user-initiated or automated, manages user access to systems and data. The company's use of SCIM enables seamless and efficient identity governance within an enterprise.

IdentityIQ ​

SailPoint IdentityIQ is an on-premises solution for Identity Governance and Administration. This product supports the System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) protocol for both incoming and outgoing requests. Detailed instructions for setting up SCIM are available in the official documentation. The following steps provide a simplified guide for configuring SCIM in the SCIM Playground:

  1. Navigate to Applications > Application Definition.
  2. Click on Add New Application.
  3. This action will open the Edit Application page, starting with the Details page.
  4. At the very least, fill in the Name and Application Type fields. For the Application Type, select SCIM 2.0.
  5. Click on Configuration.
  6. In the Base URL field, enter https://api.scim.dev/scim/v2/.
  7. For the Authentication Type, select API Token. Then, in the corresponding field, enter your API token (for example, ).
  8. Review all the entries to ensure they are correct.
  9. Click on Test Connection to verify the connection to the SCIM 2.0 server.
  10. If the connection test is successful, click on Save.

Congratulations! You have now configured SCIM in SailPoint IdentityIQ.

IdentityNow ​

IdentityNow, provided as a service by SailPoint, is an Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) solution. It is not merely IdentityIQ in the cloud. Instead, IdentityNow is a completely reimagined and redesigned solution, built natively for the cloud.

Here are the steps to configure IdentityNow with the SCIM Playground as its source:

  1. Navigate to Connections > Sources.
  2. Click on Create New.
  3. Enter the connector's name in the search box to find it, then select Configure.
  4. Fill in the Source Name, Description, and Source Owner. For the Connection Type, choose Direct Connection.
  5. Under Virtual Appliance Cluster, select the virtual appliance cluster that will serve as the application connector for the source.
  6. Click on Continue.
  7. Enter https://api.scim.dev/scim/v2/ for the Host URL.
  8. Choose API Token for the Authentication Type and input as the token.
  9. Click on Save.
  10. Click on Review and Test and verify the accuracy of each field entry.
  11. Click on Test Connection to execute the connection test.
